2022 marks GDB’s 80th anniversary! Our mission of empowering lives by creating exceptional partnerships between people, dogs, and communities continues in new, exciting ways. “It’s been quite a journey,” says GDB President and CEO Christine Benninger. “Throughout the year, we’ll celebrate milestones and introduce new services that bring our mission to life.”
Congratulations to GDB grad Aria Mia Loberti who was cast in the leading role in the Netflix adaptation of the acclaimed novel, "All the Light We Cannot See." We can't wait to watch her take on this character with the same determination, strength, and confidence that she brings to each new experience.
Like the rest of the world, we're very sad to hear of Betty White’s passing. We loved and admired Betty’s passion for animals, her incredible sense of humor and sass, and her generosity of spirit. Betty was a dear friend, dedicated supporter, and ambassador for GDB since 1986. We are forever grateful for her many contributions to our life-changing mission.
GDB’s new podcast gets underway later this month. Central Bark shares the stories and conversations that bring our mission to life. Join host Theresa Stern and special guests as they discuss how lives are changed every day through the special partnerships created between people, dogs, and communities at Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Client Megan Borella is an accomplished 23-year-old who fell in love with her guide dog Gallagher the moment they were introduced. Her involvement with GDB began when she was in grade school and her parents applied for her to have a K9 Buddy dog. But first, Megan had to overcome her fear of dogs.
