Client Testimonial: GDB Built Trust with Me Before I Began Training
At GDB, we are grateful for the trust and partnerships that we create with our clients. And these relationships have been at the forefront of our minds as we have safely resumed our campus programs and services.
GDB graduate Ginny Prince was a member of GDB's first in-residence training class held on the California campus since the pandemic began. In a recent testimonial, Ginny describes how she felt included and recognized by being involved in some of GDB’s COVID-related planning, and how grateful she is for her new guide dog, Biscuit.

Donor Offers Matching Gift Opportunity in Memory of Her Husband
Leslys Garrow Vedder has long admired Guide Dogs for the Blind and appreciates that guide dogs are far more than excellent mobility aids: they provide companionship as well as enhanced confidence, independence, and inclusion. For our year-end holiday campaign, Leslys provided a $100,000 matching gift opportunity to honor her late husband, Dr. James Forrest Vedder, who lost an eye as a child.

Volunteer Discovers Larger Purpose Raising a Guide Dog
A year ago, Gabriela “Gigi” Rodriguez, a sophomore in high school, embarked on a personal mission — to help raise a guide dog puppy. She was inspired by watching the documentary film, “Pick of the Litter,” on Netflix that traced the process of puppies raised by volunteers and then trained by professionals to become guide dogs. Gigi thought it would be amazing to channel her love for dogs into helping give the gift of more independence to someone who is blind. Along the way, she discovered a larger purpose.
